About the author, Albert Wenger:
Albert Wenger is a partner at Union Square Ventures (USV) in New York, a leading venture capital firm with early investments in companies such as Twitter, Etsy, MongoDB, Twilio, and Coinbase. USV is currently investing from its ninth core fund, its fourth opportunity fund, and its second climate fund.
Albert studied at Harvard University and holds a PhD from MIT. He lives in Manhattan with his wife, Gigi Danziger, and has three adult children. Their family foundation supports research and activism in the areas of climate, universal basic income, steward-ownership, psychedelics, and artificial intelligence.
About Dr. Franziska Brantner:
Franziska Brantner, born in Lörrach, Baden-Württemberg, studied political science and earned her doctorate at the University of Mannheim, focusing on the reform of political institutions. Driven by a deep passion for Europe, she began her career at the Bertelsmann Foundation in Brussels, working on European foreign and security policy. In 2009, she was elected to the European Parliament, where she specialized in foreign policy. Since 2013, she has represented the Heidelberg Neckar-Bergstraße constituency in the German Bundestag.
