Gen-Z in Focus: Social Media and Loneliness – Talk

Accompanying the exhibition Social Studies by Lauren Greenfield, Fotografiska Berlin and FAQ Health present a talk series examining how social media shapes our lives. Discussions will focus on identity, self-worth, mental health, and the ways we navigate digital spaces.

This talk explores why we – particularly Generation Z – feel lonely despite being digitally connected. Valentina Vapaux, author of Generation Z, speaks with Josephine Blint, Channel & Growth Manager at F/A/Q, about the reality of her generation and the influence of social media on self-image, self-worth and relationships.

In her Spiegel bestseller Generation Z, Vapaux explores topics including influencer culture, gender roles and dating apps, while asking why Gen Z is considered one of the loneliest generations.

About the speaker

Drawing on her own experiences, social media creator Valentina Vapeaux discusses how she deals with the mechanisms and pressures of the digital world and how she consciously creates boundaries.
