In conversation with Shirin Neshat

Artist Talk

A black and white photo of a woman with a tattoo on her thigh.

Iranian visual artist and filmmaker Shirin Neshat will sit down with Marina Paulenka, Director of Exhibitions, to discuss her artistic trajectory and the complex social, religious, and political realities that shape her identity—and the identities of Muslim women worldwide. Neshat will discuss The Fury, her new body of work and the latest exhibition opening at Fotografiska Berlin. Through powerful black-and-white photographs and a video installation, Neshat presents the female body as both an object of desire and an ideological battleground, addressing themes of violence, power, protest, and the role of women in Islamic cultures.
