COMPOSITIONS / DRIFT
Computer-generated forms drift through digital space. They float, collide, and penetrate one another, following a logic that only seemingly resembles the laws of the real world. The architectural frame of the façade becomes the boundary for the virtual installation, whose shapes form a self-contained cosmos on the LED wall.

Banz & Bowinkel based the project on the series Compositions (2024) and RTFX (2022).
The installation is visible on the museum’s façade and is best experienced after dark from the street side, opposite our entrance.

About the Artists
Giulia Bowinkel (*1983) and Friedemann Banz (*1980) live and work in Berlin. Since 2009, they have created works together under the name Banz & Bowinkel. After studying with Albert Oehlen at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, they began producing computer-generated art: images, animations, installations, as well as augmented and virtual works. Their award-winning pieces have been exhibited at venues such as ZKM Karlsruhe, Centre Pompidou Paris, and Haus der elektronischen Künste Basel. Their works are represented in collections including Museum Kunstpalast and Kaiser Wilhelm Museum. Banz & Bowinkel are members of medienkunstverein e. V.
