Fotografiska announces the launch of its new global Emerging Artists Program, a hybrid digital (emerging.fotografiska.com) and in-museum initiative designed to recognize, elevate, and connect the next generation of image makers across lens-, time-, and prompt-based art.
Rooted in Fotografiska’s mission to inspire new perspectives, the platform expands the museum’s ecosystem beyond its physical spaces in Berlin, Stockholm, Shanghai, Tallinn, and soon Oslo. It creates a continuous, accessible entry point for emerging artists worldwide.
The platform launches with a series of open calls, all free of charge. An open call is a public invitation for emerging photographers to submit their work for professional consideration. These juried opportunities, including exhibitions, grants or publications, serve as a platform for emerging artists to gain institutional recognition and advance their careers.
By integrating curatorial expertise, global partnerships, and digital infrastructure, Fotografiska aims to foster collaboration over competition and reduce structural barriers within the art ecosystem. Fotografiska defines Emerging Artists as photographers in the early stages of their careers who have developed a distinct artistic voice, yet to achieve major solo exhibitions or institutional representation.
