Rethinking Social Media: A Democratic Approach

We’re all online all the time. Young people grow up on the internet. Everyone talks about how it shapes their lives but the youth themselves rarely get a say. We’re changing that. On 20 June 2026, we’re inviting teens (ages 16–21) to a hands-on workshop at Fotografiska Berlin. Together with the Education Innovation Lab and Adenauer Campus, we’ll listen to their experiences with social media. More importantly, we’ll work with them to figure out how to make it better. Their ideas will shape a digital learning journey for the Digital Sparks platform. Their perspectives will also influence the program of an exhibition opening at Fotografiska Berlin in September 2026.
