Frank Ockenfels 3
Introspection
Frank Ockenfels 3: Introspection invites you to break with convention and explore your inner world through creativity.
At the heart of the exhibition is Ockenfels’ journal – the foundation of his distinctive artistic style. His journaling habit, initially a tool to manage anxiety, has become central to his creative process. Using scissors, ink and charcoal, he transforms portraits into reflections of his thoughts, ideas and emotions.

"My favorite thing that ever happens is when people tell me, ‘I had no idea about your work, I don’t really know your work, I’m not sure I even like your work – but it inspired me to go get a journal and start doing something.’ With that, for me, I’m done."
Known for portraits of icons like Angelina Jolie, David Lynch, Nirvana and David Bowie, Frank Ockenfels breaks convention by blending photography, collage, drawing and journaling in a layered, deeply personal style.
Find inspiration in Ockenfels’ playful, spontaneous approach and explore your own world through art and self-expression.
